Frosty Burger is a casual hamburger spot nestled along Old Highway 80 in Pine Valley, serving up classic American diner-style fare with a local small-town backdrop. The open-air seating embraces the pine-lined surroundings, offering a relaxed, no-frills place to stretch your legs and grab a satisfying meal while passing through the region.

This spot draws in a mix of road-trippers and locals who appreciate straightforward, hearty food. Burgers range from the simple cheeseburger to variations like the bacon cheeseburger and Ortega burger, each made to order and served with sizable portions of fries or onion rings. The “frings” option—half fries, half onion rings—is a popular choice, combining two favorites without compromise. On the side, chili cheese fries and chili cheese dogs add a spicy, indulgent touch.

Frosty Burger also stands out for its soft serve ice cream and milkshakes, which seem to be a highlight for many visitors. The conversation-worthy banana splits and dipped cones offer a cool finish that fits well with the casual vibe. While the wait times can stretch during busy periods—understandable given the busy crowd and kitchen pace—the food arrives hot and fresh, making the hold worthwhile.

The staff here add to the welcoming feel, often described as friendly and attentive despite the steady flow of hungry customers. Prices hover around the $10 mark for combo meals, making it a reasonable stop for families and travelers alike.

Morning or midday drives through Pine Valley are great times to swing by, especially if you’re looking for a relaxed stop where you can enjoy the pine air and watch roadside activity while you eat. The outdoor seating area, shaded just enough to keep the California heat in check, encourages a laid-back dining experience that avoids the hustle of nearby bigger towns.

All the shakes and ice cream are good. Out of the food I've only had the chili cheese fries and they are good. My friends have ordered the burger and they like it. Definitely get the "frings", it's an order of onion rings and fries because they're both so good you have to get both! They give big servings! They're always very busy so you might have to wait a while but they are short handed so be kind and patient. The wait is worth it.nsuch a beautiful location in pine valley.

Great little spot to stop at on your way to and from California and Arizona. Employees were super nice, food was fresh and delicious. Definitely plan to go back on future road trips!

Stopped in from the highway, it is SO cute and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Prices I thought were fair (about $10 for a cheeseburger meal). Food took awhile to come out but was piping hot. The burger was flavorful and the sesame bun was soft and almost sweet! The corn dog was amazing. The fries were very soggy unfortunately. Comparable to a five guys burger in my opinion. Great spot!

Stopped on my way to San Diego to get lunch. Got the cheeseburger and chili cheese dog and was impressed. They also have really good soft serve ice cream too! I recommend stopping here if you are ever passing through and need a bite.

Saw this place on TikTok and convinced the fam we should stop on our way to mission beach. Such a good choice for lunch. I got the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and a chocolate shake. It was all so good. The staff were super friendly and overall pretty quick considering it is basically cooked to order. The seating is outdoor, small town in the pines, sup chill.

I had the Ortega Burger with fries. Seriously delicious. Mouth watering burger, crispy French fries. Kid's meal of chicken tenders and fries well liked. The young men serving were polite and serious about their job. Service with an authentic smile. Bumping great rock & roll oldies on the speakers.

Worth a stop! The prices are a bit high, but the food is good and it's a staple for the area along old highway 80. Minutes from the Cleveland National Forest and perfectly situated on your way to the Laguna Mountain Wilderness. The music they play here is great! Gives a nostalgic feeling of the old days of burgers, dogs, and soft serve roadside locations. Help keep it alive and visit!

Stopped in for a chocolate shake after a day on the trail. I had been here before as a destination on motorcycle rides, so I already knew what to look forward to. The shake was prepared quickly. The flavor was awesome as expected. The two others in our group seemed to enjoy their food. There is a variety of food and treats to choose from. There is no restroom. There is a restroom located across the street at the park. If stopping here, it would be wise to plan accordingly.
